n a disturbing incident, a 21-year-old man from Mwala, Machakos County, shocked medical staff at Masii Level III Hospital on Sunday night after arriving with self-inflicted injuries. The man, identified as Alex Muthini Mwanzia, brought parts of his severed genitals, wrapped in a nylon bag, to the hospital.
Mwala Subcounty Police Commander Nancy Jerobon confirmed that the case was reported as a self-inflicted assault. Mwanzia sought medical assistance at Masii Hospital but was later transferred to Machakos Level 5 Hospital for more advanced treatment.
Jerobon noted that while the man voluntarily went to the hospital, his motive for the drastic act remains unclear. Hospital staff described the scene as harrowing, with Mwanzia heavily bleeding upon arrival. He informed the staff that he had intentionally amputated his genitals but did not provide an explanation. Authorities are currently investigating the incident as Mwanzia receives further treatment at Machakos Level 5 Hospital.
