Machakos County Deputy Governor Demands Action Against Rising Violence in Kenya
In the wake of mysterious deaths and abductions, Deputy Governor Francis Mwangangi calls for urgent action from the government. With safety at stake, will Kenya take the necessary steps to protect its citizens?
Kenya is facing a troubling rise in violence and insecurity. When President William Samoei Ruto was sworn in, he promised that there would be no more killings, police brutality, or abductions. However, following the challenges posed by Gen Z to the Finance Bill 2024, we are seeing reports of abductions and killings becoming the new normal. Many citizens are questioning the government's commitment to their safety.
Francis Mwangangi, the Machakos County Deputy Governor, has voiced his concerns about the government's failure to protect its people. He stated, “Kenya being a democratic state, we don’t expect the kind of mysterious deaths we are seeing. The national government should secure the citizens of this country.” His comments reflect a growing frustration among Kenyans who are tired of the violence that seems to be ignored by those in power.
Mwangangi also highlighted the urgent need for action, saying, “We are seeing people being abducted, killed, and dumped. As a country, we can’t continue that way. All relevant authorities should be up to secure their citizens; that's more important than the nonsense impeachment.” His words resonate deeply with families affected by these violent acts.
The situation has become more alarming with the recent abduction and killing of three women from the same family. Their bodies were discovered dumped in different locations, raising serious concerns about safety in our communities. This tragedy is compounded by the case of Wajir MCA Hon. Yussuf Hussein, who went missing for a month before his body was found dumped in Lake Yahood, Wajir.
These incidents highlight the urgent need for the government to act. Citizens are demanding answers and accountability.
