On Tuesday, police in Trans Nzoia made a grim discovery, exhuming the body of a woman from a shallow grave in Kaliwa village, Waitaluk ward. The woman, identified as Alice Chemutai, a resident of Kitale town, had been missing for about two weeks. Her body, wrapped in a blanket, was found buried behind a mud house.

The operation was led by Trans Nzoia DCI boss Paul Songok, who was accompanied by homicide officers. Three suspects are currently in police custody in connection with her death and the secretive burial, which was only uncovered after police obtained a court order.
